Lives Not Knives needed a way to scale their in-school work on knife crime to a national level, without losing the power of lived experience and personal connection. We built a digital platform that brings their insight to classrooms nationwide, giving educators the tools to lead difficult conversations with confidence.

Creating national access to local expertise

The charity had years of in-person experience delivering workshops on youth violence and knife crime, but their impact was limited by geography and scheduling. They needed a way to make their knowledge available to more educators, without losing the nuance and personal power behind it.

We built a digital subscription platform that packaged their resources into a centralised hub—available on demand, from anywhere in the country. Schools can now access the same high-quality content through a structured, self-serve experience, expanding the charity’s reach far beyond the classroom.

Designing subscriptions that work for schools

Not every school has the same needs, resources, or teaching capacity. The platform had to reflect this. One-size-fits-all access wouldn’t work.

We developed a flexible subscription model with multiple tiers, allowing schools to choose the right level of access for their context. Teachers can create individual logins under a single subscription, making it easy for multiple staff to access resources, share lesson plans, and tailor learning to their students.

Making vital content easy to find and use

From worksheets and videos to real-life testimonies, the charity’s content is rich and varied. Without the right structure, it risked becoming overwhelming.

We introduced a clear content architecture, categorising resources by theme and format. Paired with onboarding tools and in-platform guidance, educators are now supported from their first login. It’s a system designed to lower the barrier to entry while respecting the seriousness of the content.
